Sunburn
We recommend the use of sunscreen with
an SPF of at least 15 or higher on all children over 6 months of age. If your child
is sunburned:
-
Use
Tylenol or Motrin for pain
-
Apply
cool compresses to affected area.
-
If
blisters appear, allow them to break open on their own.
-
Once
the blister has broken, observe for signs of infection (discharge, increased
redness or tenderness, fever)
-
Follow
up at the office is recommended if the sunburn with blisters involves
a large portion of the body or face.
